CONFERENCE PROGRAM

The Eighth Scientific Air Law Conference will be held in Saint-Petersburg, on October 26. This event is organized by the National Association of Air Law and AEROHELP Institute of Air and Space Law, with the support of the Federal Air Transport Agency and the Ministry of Transport of Russian Federation. Scientific partners of the Conference are the Saint-Petersburg State University of Civil Aviation and the International Institute of Air and Space Law at Leiden University.

    LEONOV Aleksey Leading Expert on Relations with the Aviation Authorities at Volga-Dnepr Airlines The Air Law Conference, held annually in St. Petersburg by the AEROHELP Institute, is one of the few events for meetings of experts in the field of air law in Russia. During these meetings, the participants of the conference have an excellent opportunity not only to hear reports of foreign colleagues on air law issues, discuss the most pressing issues of legal regulation of air transport activities, and exchange experience in this field. Live communication with industry colleagues, scientists, representatives of national regulators allows the conference participants to take a fresh look at the law enforcement practice of regulating the activities of international air transport in various jurisdictions.

VENUE

The Eighth Air Law Conference will be held on October 26, 2018, in the beautiful palace and park ensemble of the late XVIII - early XIX centuries, located in Pavlovsk, a modern suburb of St. Petersburg. The core of the ensemble is the Pavlovsk Palace, which was the summer residence of Paul I. Pavlovsk Park is considered as one of the best landscape parks not only in Russia but also in Europe. For the Conference, one of the most famous buildings of the Pavlovsk park was chosen – the Rose Pavilion – the monument of Russian culture that arose at the beginning of the XIX century. Originally, the building was a summer residence of Bagration. But already in 1812, the chief architect of Pavlovsk Andrei Voronikhin, especially for the Empress Maria Feodorovna, rebuilt the residence into the most beautiful pavilion, surrounded on all sides by rose gardens. In 1989, Pavlovsk was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in Russia, currently, 42 objects here are protected by the state as cultural and historical monuments. Pavlovsk has become one of the centers of tourism, annually it is visited by more than 1.5 million tourists.
